・To getting pumped before going on stage to perform, every members form a circle, the leader extends their right hand, and all the other members place their hands on top. Finally, the leader places their hand over to sandwich the others' hands. After sharing their enthusiasm and giving last-minute reminds for the performance, the leader starts with "Ganbatte ikimassh~" and they all shout together: "shoi!" (がんばっていっきまっしょい) which means "Let's do our best!".
・Because of this, the term "shoi" is also used to refer to this motivation ritual. An exemple usage is "shoi shiyou!" which means "Let's get motivated!". There's generation specific version of this, such as "9ki de! Kyun!" (9期でキュン) or "10 de! Pyon!" (10期でぴょん).
・The group's general nickname in public is "Momusu" (モー娘), the hardcore fans call it "Musume" (娘) and the members themselves tend to say "Morning" (モーニング).
・Before their official debut, they released the song "Ai no Tane", considered as their 0th single, and achieved the challenge of selling 50.000 copies by hand in 5 days, which led to their debut decision. Only the original 5 members and the 14 members who were active in November 2017 have ever performed this song.
・The group has three era distincts among the fandom: Golden Era, Plantinum Era, Colorful Era. The group's era centered aroung the 4th generation members is called the "Golden Era". The period with the 5th to 8th generation members under leadership Takahashi Ai is called the "Planitum Era". The period with two 6th generation members, the 9th to 10th generation members under leadership Michishige Sayumi is called the "Colorful Era". Fans generally see the Golden Era as the group's peak in popularity, the Platinum Era as the peak in performance, the Colorful Era as a new Morning Musume。especially with the songs incorporating EDM sounds and the dance formations that have become standard.
・During these group eras, there were members considered as the "centers" : Abe Natsumi for the Golden Era, Takahashi Ai for the Platinum Era, Sayashi Riho for the Colorful Era.
・From the original 5 members in 1998 to Inoue Haruka and Yumigeta Ako (17th generation) joining in 2023, the total number of members has been 47. The group's smallest lineup was 5 members (first originally lineup and the formation after Kamei Eri, Junjun, Linlin graduated until the 9th generation joined). The largest lineup was 16th members (from the 6th generation joining until Yasuda Kei graduated).
・On January 1, 2014, the group's name changed to Morning Musume。'14 (read as one-four) and it now changes every year (Morning Musume。'15 in 2015, Morning Musume。'16 in 2016, Morning Musume。'17 in 2017...).

・Early on, members official colors were not fixed, but became standardized with the spring and autumn 2005 tour when t-shirts by color were sold as merchandising. Before that, some consider the track jacket colors worn in the 2000 movie "Pinch Runner" as the member colors.

In a television program's TV show broadcasted on 2023, fans were asked to fill some rankings about differents aspects of the group's history, one of them was "the strongest leaders" : 1st was Michishige Sayumi, 2nd was Nakazawa Yuko, 3rd was Fukumura Mizuki.
・The longest tenure period is currently Ikuta Erina, who joined on 2011 as a 9th generation member, and graduated on 2023 as the group's 10th leader. She was a Morning Musume。member for 5301 days and missed zero day.
